These days, skin diseases and infections are becoming quite common due to the ever-increasing problem of pollution. Skin pigmentation and dark spots on the skin is one of those severe problems which occur when there is hormonal imbalance, irregular sleep or any other complication.
Pigmentation refers to the colouring of the skin. Skin pigmentation disorders cause changes to the colour of your skin. Melanin is made by cells in the skin and is the pigment responsible for your skin’s colour.

We have been successfully treating all types of skin pigmentation from freckle removal, sun spots to age spots on facial and body areas.
What are the causes of pigmentation?
Skin pigmentation implies darkening of the skin or dark patches on the face and body. It is often caused due to genetics or a hereditary tendency to develop skin pigmentation easily after any abuse to skin. However, you’ll also find that the most common catalyst among Indian skin tones is sunlight.
- certain medications, including chemotherapy drugs
- pregnancy hormones
- endocrine diseases, such as Addison’s disease
- melasma
- insulin resistance
- skin irritation or trauma
Identify the Disorder Type
Like many functions within the skin, the process of creating pigment (melanogenesis) is extremely complex. When damaged, the melanin production process changes, either overproducing or slowing. This is when issues occur, resulting in one of three types of pigment changes:
- Hyperpigmentation––darkened pigment
- Hypopigmentation––a lack of melanin in the skin
- Demarcation––uneven pigment
Medical Pigmentation Treatment
Depending on the cause of your pigmentation, treatment may involve addressing an underlying medical condition or stopping a medication. There are several medical treatment options available if home remedies for pigmentation fail to give you the results you want. These include:
- Chemical peels
- Dermabrasion
- intense pulsed light (IPL)
- Laser resurfacing
- Cryotherapy
- Halo
- BBL
What is Halo Laser Treatment?
HALO™, the world’s first Hybrid Fractional Laser (HFL), is revolutionizing resurfacing. HALO delivers non-ablative and ablative wavelengths to the same microscopic treatment zone, giving patients results they love without the discomfort or downtime they expect.
This new technology produces targeted, reproducible, effective results that improve the appearance of numerous skin conditions. Intelligent energy delivery, combined with Dynamic Thermal Optimization, ensures precise, even, safe treatments.
How does Halo laser treatment work?
The Halo Laser Produces is a wavelength of high energy light, which is then converted into heat energy. This can target the specific area of pigmentation because the laser is absorbed only by cells containing an excessive concentration of pigmentation. This causes efficient destruction while leaving the surrounding tissue undamaged.
Benefits of Halo Treatment
- Can minimise and eliminate the appearance of pigmentation
- Treats body and facial areas
- Minimal side effects and recovery time
- Make-up can be worn after treatment
Ways to Prevent Pigmentation Naturally
The number one way to help prevent pigmentation is to limit your sun exposure and always wear sun protection. Here are a few simple, skin-saving strategies:
- Avoid direct sunlight when possible during the peak hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Sit under an umbrella or in the shade when you are outdoors.
- Wear sun-protective clothing – like SPF fabrics – when you plan to spend time outdoors.
- Shade your face and scalp with a wide-brimmed hat.
- Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 every day. Broad-spectrum filters out both UVA rays that lead to the signs of ageing and UVB rays that cause sunburn. If you are in a high humidity area than it needs to be repeated every hour.
